After trying so many products, I decided to make the cream his skin actually needed. I started learning everything I could about how his skin functioned and what it lacked. Through trial and error, I created a formula that finally gave him the comfort and flexibility his skin needed.
But his skin and mine weren’t the same.
He needed intense, ongoing, long-lasting moisture. My skin needed moisture plus gentle, consistent exfoliation. That realization is what led me to create my lactic acid lotions.
To say I had a very rough relationship with my skin, would be an understatement- I hated my skin and how it made me feel inside. I wasn’t even a teenager and my skin already looked like I was 100. It was rough, tough, bumpy and even wrinkly on my legs and forearms. I thought I really had it bad.
Then I met my then husband and everything I felt about my skin and myself was severely challenged. Here was a guy who couldn’t even form a fist without his knuckles retaliating by splitting open and sending painful shockwaves throughout his body.
He was born with a chronically dry skin condition that constantly dried up, cracked, bled, and formed thick scales that pulled on his skin until it shattered making his every move stiff and painful. Then there was the constant itch that got worse at night- it was a nightmare with no end in sight.
Desperate to find comfort for his skin, we tried everything we could get our hands on. It was emotionally draining -watching his hope dwindle with each product we found and tried. He got to the point where he didn’t want to try anything else. Could anyone blame him?
Maybe it was the pent-up frustration and anger I had towards my skin growing up, or just being fed-up watching him suffer- whatever it was, it drove me hard to find a solution.
After a lot of research, countless batches, and so much testing and tweaking, I made a cream that changed everything for him.
For the first time in his life he was comfortable and relaxed in his own skin. He was even able to form a fist, something most of us never think twice about, without his skin getting bloodied. It was a win.
After that success, I turned inwardly, took that same passion and created a lotion that melted away the weight I had carried all my life. It wasn’t just lotion, it was hope and all the possibilities.

Really awesome lotion! Does not feel greasy. It has really helped to reduce my keratosis pilaris on my arms within a couple days of using it. Hopefully with some time it will lighten my tan a bit. Definitely will repurchase!

Rough bumpy skin, also known as keratosis pilaris or chicken skin is formed through a process called hyperkeratinization- this is where the skin produces excess keratin protein which is deposited around hair follicles. The hair is then trapped inside and this results in permanent goosebumps-like bumps which feel rough to the touch.
Lactic acid is a powerful yet gentle keratolytic. This means that it breaks down the hardened skin cells and loosens them so they can be manually sloughed off. Because Lactic acid is a gentleman, it does this gently without causing irritation.
While the lactic acid breaks down the tough hardened skin cells, the other ingredients such as glycerin, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide etc. work together to keep the skin moisturized, protected, and bright so the newly exposed skin does not dry out, harden or get discolored. The result? a smoother, softer and more even-toned skin.
Did you know that lactic acid is naturally found in our skin as one of the natural moisturizing factors?
Our skin’s natural moisturizing factor works to protect our barrier function – this is what keeps moisture and other fluids in and bacteria and other pathogens out. When our skin barrier function is compromised, the result is dry, rough, and irritated skin.
So not only does lactic acid help to break down hardened keratin, but it also contributes towards moisturization as well as healthier and stronger barrier function.
Lactic acid also improves skin firmness by triggering fibroblast that release collagen. Collagen is the thing that gives the skin its structure and shape. With good collagen production, the skin maintains a nice firm, young look.
The other reason I love lactic acid: it’s one of the longest most thoroughly studied exfoliating ingredients. And unlike glycolic acid, it works on various skin types. Yes, even sensitive skin types.
If you’re new to lactic acid lotion, you might either feel intimidated or tempted to jump right in with this 20% Lactic acid lotion, but I promise you, it’s way better to start slow and work your way up. The place to start is with our 10% Lactic Acid Lotion or our 12% Lactic Acid Lotion as your skin will be able to better tolerate it.
After some time, your skin will get used to the strength of the lactic acid. When this happens, you’ll need to get a higher strength like our 15% Lactic Acid Lotion.
How will you know when your skin gets used to the strength? You’ll notice fewer and fewer loose skin each week (when you manually exfoliate) as opposed to when you first start using it.
You will need patience. It takes about 6-8 weeks to experience noticeable difference in yours skin. Although you’ll notice softer skin when you first apply the cream, this will be purely from the intense moisture.
With time, as the lactic acid breaks down the hardened skin cells, your skin will feel smoother and look brighter with each use.
If you want glowing, smoother skin, you will need to be patience, consistency, and time.
Manually scrub off the loosened skin at least once a week. Remember not to over scrub. If skin does not readily come off, don’t force it, otherwise you risk causing injury to your skin and going backwards.
At some point, your skin will get used to the 20% lactic acid. You’ll notice fewer and fewer loose skin- this is how you’ll know.
Do not go any higher than 20% or you will risk getting burns and undoing all the hard work you put in.
By the time your skin gets used to the 20% strength, your skin should look and feel a lot smoother.
However, if you feel like it needs to get rid of more roughness, the best thing to do is stop using lactic acid lotion for about one or two weeks, and instead use an intensive moisturizing cream like our Lotion for dry skin. This will keep your skin intensely moisturized, hydrated and protected from drying out.
After about two weeks of being off of the lactic acid lotion, reintroduce it again and you’ll notice that your skin will behave as if it’s new to lactic acid and start breaking down dead skin cells.

Always start with clean skin. Cleanse your skin with a gentle or mild soap. This helps to thoroughly remove surface dirt, dead skin, built-up oils, grime, and toxins. If your skin is not clean, the lotion will NOT penetrate properly. Moreover, applying lotion to dirty skin will not be a pleasant experience and it really is just a waste.
Apply to slightly damp skin. The extra moisture on your skin helps transport the lotion and seal it in.
To apply: Scoop out a small amount with your finger. Rub together in the palms of your hands and apply evenly to your skin. repeat as needed.
This Lactic Acid Lotion is not to be use on the face. This cream is for external use only. Do not apply to broken skin as this could irritate it further.

Yes! It’s formulated to be gentle and effective. However, if you’ve never used lactic acid lotion previously, start with a lower strength and patch test before proceeding, just to be sure.
This is designed to be used daily, just like any other cream. However, if your skin feels too sensitive after using it, use it every other day until your sin gets used to it.
Your skin will feel softer and smoother after your first application due to intense locked-in hydration. Full visible results typically appear after 6–8 weeks of consistent use. For best results, exfoliate manually at least once a week to remove dead skin cells.
Yes, you can, just be careful not to use a combination of products that irritate your skin. Avoid using lactic acid lotion if you’re taking Retinoids orally, this could lead to over exfoliation and your skin will feel extremely sensitive
